APPLE EMPTY TOMB ROLLS

APPLE EMPTY ROMB ROLLS

A soft, buttery, flaky roll stuffed full of chopped up apples in an incredible caramel sauce. But what’s the secret to Apple Empty Tomb Rolls?

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 Package Original Crescent Rolls
  • 1 Honeycrisp Apple
  • 4 Tablespoon Butter, unsalted, divided
  • 1/4 Cup Cinnamon Sugar, divided (more if needed)
  • 1 1/2 Cups Mini Marshmallows

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  2. Spay a muffin tin with nonstick spray
  3. Peel, core and slice the apple, preferably using this peeler.
  4. Cut the apple slices into 1″ chunks and place in a microwave safe bowl.
  5. Microwave the apples for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until barely tender.
  6. Let cool while you melt the butter.
  7. Drain out all liquid from the apples.
  8. Pour 1 Tablespoon of butter over the apples
  9. Add 1 1/2 Tablespoons of cinnamon sugar
  10. Add the marshmallows and gently stir to combine.
  11. Place remaining cinnamon sugar in a bowl.
  12. Press out one triangle of crescent roll dough on the silpat using the method described in the post.
  13. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center and carefully fold up every corner and side and pinch shut on top, careful to not rip the bottom.
  14. Roll the dough in the remaining butter and then cinnamon sugar and place in the greased muffin tin.
  15. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  16. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
note:
You may want to add more cinnamon sugar or marshmallows based on taste. Feel free to do so.
